Hidden away in a recording studio in the basement of the historical Central Telegraph building in Moscow, just 100 metres from The Kremlin you can find indie-rock band, Apache Rose. However, overseas, they are not so hidden with over 10,000 Facebook followers and with over a quarter of a million YouTube views on their last single it is clear that indie rock fans from US and UK are loving the Moscow based band.
Built around the Muscovite engine of Ilya Novokhatskiy, Apache Rose is far from Russian interference, it is the clarion call for the return of ultra-catchy melodic rock, with the earworms of The Beatles and the raw swagger of The Strokes. Apache Rose’s latest single is Blind Spot, a ‘tribute’ to reckless taxi drivers worldwide and with an overarching theme of being careful not to put yourself in situations you can’t control.
And if that’s not enough to wet your appetitie, the band have annocuned that they will also be releasing their EP this summer… we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
