As reported by Birmingham Live, Fleetwood Mac co-founder Peter Green has died, a statement from solicitors acting on behalf of the family said. He was 73.
Green was born in 1946 and went on to become co-founder of Fleetwood Mac. After a final performance on 20 May 1970, Green left Fleetwood Mac.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, before Rolling Stone ranked Green at number 58 in its list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.
In 1996, Green was voted the third-best guitarist of all time in Mojo magazine.
The statement from Swan Turton solicitors said: “It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Green announce his death this weekend, peacefully in his sleep.
“A further statement will be provided in the coming days”.
