As one of the singers
in RnB group MN8, Kule T topped the charts worldwide in 1995 with ‘I’ve
Got a Little Something For You’ (featured on the Bad Boys soundtrack!)
and the album, To The Next Level. After the band’s split
in 1998 he took a step back from the music industry to raise his baby daughter,
only for serious health issues to threaten his life.
Whilst recovering, Kule T promised himself he would write three songs for his close friends to hear. The response astonished him and cheered him on to create even more music, a feat that not many people in the same position would be able to achieve. His new releases ‘I Just Know You Wanna’ and ‘Truly It’ portray an artist with a timeless voice reminiscent of neo soul innovators like Maxwell and D’Angelo. Kule T even performed recently at the Looking Glass Cocktail Club in Shoreditch, demonstrating an artist truly back in his stride.
There’s one special inspiration in his life and that’s his daughter. In his own words:
“I am so focused on my goals now. It would mean so much for my baby girl to say, “that’s my daddy on the TV”’.
MN8 worked alongside the likes of P Diddy and Arthur Baker, not to mention the tours supporting Janet Jackson and the sharing of the stage with Take That, Boyzone and Backstreet Boys.
