FingerFusion Project is Gabor Lesko‘s latest release and it’s an album that demonstrates perfectly his talent as a producer and guitarist. The album explores thoughtful and emphatic guitar playing, focusing primarily on Gabor’s flawless acoustic skills, however, it also showcases his Steve Vai-esque amped-up mastery. Gabor and his band touch on jazz highlighted by some brilliant sax courtesy of Eric Marienthal, but ultimately take a more progressive approach with moving time signatures and fluid chord structures that keep the listener on their toes.
As Gabor says: “The decisive and progressive oriented drumming, mixed with my finger-style and acoustic fusion influences definitely created a new sound”.
It takes all the best elements of Jazz, Prog and Rock, blending them seamlessly to create, in his own words, some of the finest work of his career! One of the tracks from the album ‘Faith and Glory’ even made Jazz FM’s ‘Track of the Week’ recently – a testament to the album’s innovative genius.
Gabor’s guitar talents are also undeniable (he has even pioneered his own form of sweep picking without a plectrum) and this album is full of thoughtful composition. It’s well worth a listen.
