Tuesday the 24th of September, Jonathan Cilia Faro performed tracks from his album From Now On at the legendary London venue, The Troubadour.
Having held the likes of Elton John, Robert Plant and Bob Dylan – The Troubadour truly is a venue for stars in the making. It was clear that Jonathan felt privileged to be performing on a stage that had welcomed such big names, he mentions Jimi Hendrix in particular as someone he admired who has played at the venue.

Jonathan’s setlist from The Troubadour

Jonathan did a mixture of Italian and English songs. Performing to a packed out venue of an audience of all ages, it didn’t matter if you were a fan of opera or not. Jonathan’s pop-opera style takes away the inaccessible nature of opera that many people assume, what’s left is spine-tingling vocals – that were even more impressive in the intimate room.

“Such a pleasure to be back in London after many years away. My hope is to reach people of all ages with my music and my positive message, Opera is simply a story told to music and music is a universal language that has the power to bring us all together.”

Jonathan reflects on his performance at The Troubadour, a rare opportunity for those in the UK to see Jonathan perform live.

All in all, Jonathan’s performance was definitely glitter over litter, and is one to watch for the future!
