Soul icon Joyce Sims, the legendary voice behind the Billboard top ten hit ‘Come into My Life’ has returned, blessing us with a brand new single ‘Everybody’s Going Through Something’ and a selection of remixes. The single is a teaser of what’s to come in her upcoming album ‘Change’ which is set to be released on August 24th, and was written and produced by Joyce herself.
‘Everybody’s Going Through Something’ is the ideal blend of soul, funk, dance and pop that you’ll be begging the DJ to play on your next night out. With remixes for every occasion, each listen brings a fresh experience and you’ll find that you won’t be able to get her catchy beats and addictive melodies out of your head.
Before establishing herself as an iconic soul diva, Joyce was turning heads with her stand-out voice while singing in her local church choir. She then went on to release her first single ‘(You Are My) All and All’ in 1986, which reached number 16 on the UK Singles Chart and entered the US Dance Chart at number 51, peaking at number 6. This was then followed by her single ‘Come into My Life’ in 1988, which became the most notable success of her career, landing her a spot in the UK R&B chart’s top 10. She has since gone on to release an impressive discography of unmissable club hits and is always keen to thank her UK fanbase for being incredibly loyal throughout her career.
With the Covid-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter movement and so many other important historical moments unfolding, Joyce’s songwriting in ‘Everybody’s Going Through Something’ highlights our struggles as a society and ability to rise up if we stand together, making it the uplifting anthem we all need during these difficult times.
