Leif Coffield is due to release his brand new single ‘Say My Name’ in February; it’s a dark twist on electro pop. He’s gained support from the highly influential Clash Music and national BBC Radio, but he’s looking to broaden his sound to a wider audience still. Leif is based in Glasgow, taking inspiration from artists that defy the mainstream. In the lyrics of his latest track, he tackles the suppression of relationships and the need to rediscover himself: “I try in each of my songs for them to have one unique element or one distinguishing factor that sounds out of the ordinary and that separates it from the norm. I take a lot of inspiration from artists that endeavor to break the mold and refrain from operating within the confines of the mainstream. Artists like Flume, FINNEAS, Kanye West, Bon Iver etc where pushing the boundaries of the creative process and what is conventionally palatable is key.” A stunning video will be released next month to accompany ‘Say My Name’.
