Combining musical sounds from the 80s, Star Vision releases new music. If you are a fan of heavy rock mixed with modern production then Star Vision is the artist you should be adding to the top of your playlists. 

Star Vision will be releasing his solo project entitled ‘Another Time, Another Place’. The debut solo project features four original tracks that have been recorded and produced by Star Vision himself. 

The first track on the EP entitled “Searching High and Low (Remedy)” discusses the ruminating about an ex partner and aiming to make sense of the reason there was a break up. When a relationship is ended leaving more questions than answers, “Searching High and Low (Remedy)” is the song you need. 

The second song on the EP is titled “Destiny” and lyrically poetically describes the feeling of love-at-first-sight. The last song on the EP entitled  “Remember Those Nights” lyrically describes reminiscing about the freedom and innocence of youth.

The rising alt-rock group from Belfast known as Alpha Twin is scheduled to release their latest EP, Symbolism, on October 21st. Taking inspiration from iconic bands such as Queens of the Stone Age and Rage Against the Machine, Alpha Twin has been able to incorporate their own musical practices on top of these inspirations to create a sound that is distinctly their own.

Alpha Twin’s upcoming EP opens with a track that the group had previously released on May 13th called “Gaze.” This hard-hitting song sets the tone for the musical capabilities that Alpha Twin are possible of by combining expertly crafted lyrics with hard-hitting distortion.

The lead single off of Symbolism, “Hypnotise” and “Blood Like Honey,” display the group’s individuality by focusing on themes of mental health instead of the more celebrity-influenced themes present in more famous rock groups. Authenticity is clearly very important to Alpha Twin and their lead single highlights the real message that these real musicians want to display.

Symbolism ends with another track that Alpha twin had previously released on September 2nd called “Live Your Life.” From beginning to end, Symbolism highlights the band’s ability to craft meaningful, lyrical messages while still delivering intense and powerful anthems that any true rocker would love.

The Chicago-based blues rock band known as The Footlight District is scheduled to release their latest single, “Lightning,” on September 9th. Having already released two successful albums and the recent releases of two successful singles, The Footlight District has solidified themselves as a band that is destined for future successes, especially in their upcoming single.

For “Lightning,” the band was able to collaborate with Russell Marsden of Band of Skulls, bringing his many years of experience and alternative rock artistry to an already energetic group of musicians. After having the successes that The Footlight District has had, it is unsurprising that they were able to get a collaboration with someone as revered as Marsden for their electric new single.

Although the band has had their share of successes, they have had their share of hardships as well. For a period of time in 2005, the members of The Footlight District were homeless following Hurricane Katrina’s path of destruction in the United States. Despite this, the group was able to form closer connections to one another and appreciated the importance of connection with one another, which they try to display in their music and stage presence.

Comprising of five close-knit siblings, The Footlight District is able to bring an familiar, energetic, and memorable stage presence to their live performances. Luckily for those in the United Kingdom, the group has several shows scheduled from September 16th through October 7th, so if you’re looking for a good rock show, look no further than The Footlight District.

Lady Silver, the latest alternative rock band from Tel Aviv, Israel, recently released their single, “News of the World,” on May 27th. “News of the World” is the lead single off of the band’s upcoming album Circus Pop, which is set to be released at some point in the near future. Lady Silver consists of four members: Nir Hakim on drums, Gal Motiuk on keyboards and bass, Daniel Krichevsky on guitar, and Max Spon on vocals and guitar.

Musically, “News of the World” opens with drums and a heavily distorted guitar riff to help set the tone of this heavily satirized song. The first half of the verse helps to set the musical tone of the song before the second half of the verse comes in with more exciting rhythmic changes to the vocal melody, creating a sense of urgency and uneasiness right before the powerful choruses. This cycle continues until the breakdown after the second chorus, in which an ethereal soundscape replaces the rock-heavy parts beforehand. This change helps to deliver a heavier punch on the last chorus that doubles down on the alternative rock sound by adding even more grit and distortion before the song comes to a close.

Lyrically, “News of the World” looks to cover the topic of fake news and the absurdity attached to the topic in a very satirical way. The single from Lady Silver is also accompanied by a music video that emphasizes this subject matter by utilizing a variety of deep fakes from major celebrities and powerful individuals. With the complex issues that surround the usage of deep fakes, Lady Silver responsibly ensures viewers that they are utilizing deep fakes and that their work is a piece of satire not to be taken literally.
