Celebrated singer and multi-instrumentalist Jon Scott has a stunning EP on its way, with a meaning and message the world needs to hear.

The new project titled Freedom – A New Jerusalem chronicles the challenging world we’re living in, the prejudice and hate we may have to face and a call for the global community to combat divisive politics and celebrate the good in people – A necessary message for the uncertain times in which the world is living through.

The inspiring EP is set for release in Autumn of this year and is a true crystallisation of Jon Scott’s experience of the world as it battles through Covid-19 and the pressing social issues raised by the Black Lives Matter movement. Hugely relevant and important messages that compel the listener to stand up and unify as a community.

Set on a backdrop of Soul, Jazz & Afro-Pop inspired musicality Jon Scott’s songs will strike the hearts of audiences to their very core, taking them on a journey through his real life experiences. A compelling tale that has taken the inspiring Jon Scott from the streets of Lagos, Nigeria, to the top law firms of London.

A soulful sound reminiscent of gospel and jazz, with a meaningful message behind it, Jon Scott’s new EP will touch hearts and minds across the globe.

“The inherent prophecy of the ‘wall theme’ then manifested itself in the on-street killing of George Floyd. Then amazingly, we saw the outpouring of humanity, love and oneness in the BLM demonstrations all over the world. For me, this is a vision of “a new Jerusalem”, a place where all God’s children can stand together as one humanity.”

2020 has undoubtedly been a tough year for all, full of challenge and uncertainty. Yet, Jon Scott has navigated these difficuties and processed the hatred of the world through music.

“Out of all the craziness, hatred, spite and nastiness, the majority of folk all around the world marched together to stand up for what is blatantly right. It’s a seminal moment, era-defining and world awakening, particularly given the fact that this all occurred in lock down.”

“In particular, I hope that the video will be a picture chronicle for the world of this amazing uplifting of spirit particularly for the future generations, as a benchmark of what we should be about as all god’s children or if one prefers, children of one creation and of the universe”.

Not only the project’s singer-songwriter, but also its guitarist and percussionist, Jon’s talent knows no bounds. Assisted by friend and fellow creative Gordon Hulburt, Freedom – A New Jerusalem is set to be a meaningful masterpiece.
