He’s gained support from the highly influential Clash Music and national BBC Radio, but he’s looking to broaden his sound to a wider audience still.

Leif is based in Glasgow, taking inspiration from artists that defy the mainstream. In the lyrics of his latest track, he tackles the suppression of relationships and the need to rediscover himself:

“I try in each of my songs for them to have one unique element or one distinguishing factor that sounds out of the ordinary and that separates it from the norm. Artists like Flume, FINNEAS, Kanye West, Bon Iver etc where pushing the boundaries of the creative process and what is conventionally palatable is key.”

A stunning video will be released next month to accompany ‘Say My Name’. It contrasts the starkness of run-down council flats with the vividness of the visuals from the dancers involved.

With textured electronic pop never seen quite in the style of indie tracks, Leif Coffield is a boundary-breaker for certain.

Ruth Brosnan has composed a track which encompasses the struggles of the pandemic, from restrictions, to the bravery and dedication of front line workers.

It’s an upbeat song, despite the potentially gloomy subject, which spreads a clear message of escapism and hope.

This motivational and passionate dance track is perfect for fans of the 80s decade, though it gives a modern twist with electronic elements throughout.

The music is impossible not to dance to; exactly what the nation needs in this difficult and draining time. With Ruth’s music, the pop style, no-nonsense track will get us back on our feet and keep our chins up!

The single, ‘It’s Christmas’, has been released after Elle decided to do more than just help the homeless in her hometown of Southampton and set her sights on the rest of the nation.

She’s raising money for homeless charity Shelter, to not only widen awareness but get them some vital funds ready for the festive season.

A percentage of all the funds from downloads and views of Elle’s music video (which you can watch below!) will go directly to the charity to help prevent homelessness in the lockdown and festive period.

Almost every Sunday Elle goes out with her mum delivering sandwiches, cake and fruit to those sleeping rough on the streets. She sets an example which we should all follow, not just at Christmas but all year round.

The seven tracks that make up ‘Japanesy If You Pleasey’ are a trigger which come together to portray the trio’s indie expertise and passion.

Indie artists such as Violent Femmes, B-52s, Daniel Johnson and Neutral Milk Hotel are clear inspiration for the twists and turns of their style. But they also hold their own in retaining a quirky and fresh sound.

The songs ask questions from everything regarding government, corona virus and even all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants and BoJack Horseman. Combined American and Japanese cultures are brought together in this DIY mash.

Listen to the tracks below:

The songs give a true personal feel, somehow also managing to epitomise coolness. For instance, ‘BoJack’, written after the band binge-watched the series throws out chirpy lyrics alongside gooey rhythms.

Perhaps the cherry on top for fans of this band is their no-filter approach. They take a calm viewpoint on production techniques and commit to artist integrity throughout.

Cyrus continued: “I think I knew who I was meant to be, but I’m sure there’s something in there…Some trauma of feeling so criticised, I think, for what I felt was pretty average teenage, early exploration.”

Cyrus went on to say “big progress” had occurred since her teens in media coverage “especially towards women and bodies.”

“I don’t even know if you really can slut-shame now. Is that even a thing?’ Cyrus said. “The media hasn’t really slut-shamed me in a long time.

Earlier this week (December 4), Cyrus performed a cover of Hole’s 1994 classic, ‘Doll Parts’ on The Howard Stern Show.

It’s the latest in a string of rock-oriented covers Cyrus has delivered throughout 2020. In recent months, the singer has given her rendition on the likes of Blondie and The Cranberries, earning accolades from both.

In a four-star review of Cyrus’ latest album, NME said it saw the singer reinvent herself, with the record possessing “infinitely more grit” than its predecessor, 2017’s ‘Younger Now’.

The review continued: “‘Plastic Hearts’ finds the pop-star-turned-rock-star going hell for leather – and when Miley Cyrus is at full throttle, it’s an absolute blast.”
