UK Artist Lemzi, and His Latest Project, ‘Outliers – A Creative Project’

Published

on

If you’re a fan of UK music such as garage and grime, then you’re going to love this new project from UK artist, Lemzi! Coming in with a unique approach, he’s released ‘Outliers – A Creative Project’, which is split into three parts, with each part delving into important subjects from the mind of Lemzi, using his talent and personal experiences to create something that we can all resonate with. Lemzi and his collaborators have created something that needs to be heard, not just for the music, but for the message and quality it contains.

Split across three chapters, each chapter tells a story of its own, with music that reflects on moments in Lemzi’s life. The first chapter, Polluted Mind, is introduced to us with ‘The Slump’, a track that speaks on the lowest moments of Lemzi’s career so far. A bright beat and immense lyrical ability, it tells a story of how Lemzi is feeling in a brilliant, succinct way as he talks about his journey with his own mental state. The next track, ‘Bill Dis.?!’ hits with the same beat and lyrical ability that keep your attention, while also telling a story of being in a situation that you should, or don’t want to be in. A brilliant introduction, it shows an ability beyond music, it shows a knack for storytelling that makes his perspective and lyrics feel even more immersive.

The second chapter, Outsyde, is about enjoying your freedoms. Having had to put this project on hold due to Covid, it was a poignant time to reflect on personal freedoms, and the track ‘Liberty’ demonstrates that in the best way possible. A bouncy track with clear garage influence, it’s a track that is all about dreaming of a life without boundaries, capturing the essence of what freedom means.

The third and final chapter, Reasoning, starts off with a track called ‘Good Grief’ – a reflective track that looks at how we feel about grief. Having lost family along the way, it’s a track steeped in personal experience from Lemzi who is able to convey emotions with ease, showing not only his ability as a musician, but as a lyricist, just as he has done throughout the project.

An overall fantastic project, it pushes the boundaries of musical expression and takes the listener on a journey of highs, lows and important lessons that are always worth keeping with you. Lemzi himself, shows himself to be a musician of the highest quality, able to put lyrics and music together to create stories that can be understood on a personal level. ‘Outliers – A Creative Project’ is a fantastic display of talent, perspective and emotions that have been delivered in the perfect way. Out now, you simply cannot afford to miss this!

Yvonne Lyon, known for her lyrical eloquence and strong melodic lines, continues to deliver work that resonates deeply with both critics and fans alike. Reflecting on the project, Lyon shares, “We’ve unearthed new narratives from overlooked sources, offering our listeners a unique lens that combines past sentiment with live-wire contemporary relevance.”

Boo Hewerdine, an artist whose credentials include Ivor Novello Award nominations and collaborations with some of the industry’s finest, lends his seasoned expertise to the album. “We’ve reimagined forgotten pieces as fresh, powerful stories that will strike a chord with today’s discerning audience,” he explains, displaying the kind of thoughtful innovation that sets both artists apart.

The album’s launch event will take place in the intimate setting of Culzean Castle’s iconic bookshop on March 30.
