The Guapos, an epic group of four talented musicians from Mexico and Spain, is making waves in the music scene.
This all-star team is composed of Adán Jodorowsky, El David Aguilar, Jay deLa Cueva, and Leiva, all of whom have achieved individual success in their own right. The Guapos’ music is a refreshing antidote to the digital immediacy and trends of today’s music.
Their sound is rooted in the classics, with catchy lyrics, danceable beats, and a modern update of the best of past times. Even the recording process for their forthcoming debut album was done entirely analog on two tracks, with mono sound.
Lead singer Adán Jodorowsky has been making music for over a decade, having released nine albums, and even contributing to the soundtracks of four movies. He credits the Guapos’ success to the deep friendship between the four musicians, and the “sensual alchemical drop” that they bring to the project.
“Several years ago, I met Jay dela Cueva at his home, with the intention of collaborating on something together, without thinking of one day putting together a band. We wrote “I am handsome”. Laughing our guts out, we thought of creating The Guapos. But we left this project in a drawer for years. A decade later, we invited David Aguilar and Leiva to be part of the project. It was evident. Four handsome men with style could not fail.
More than a band, it is a project of deep friendship. If I’m a “Guapo” today, it’s because I’m one of the four essential elements in the band, the sensual alchemical drop, the seasoning of supreme good looks adding voluptuous waves on the dancefloors”
The Guapos are sure to be a hit with their combination of classic sound and modern flair, and it’s clear that these four talented musicians will be making waves for a long time.
