Never the Bride are Bristol born Nikki Lamborn (vocals) and Glaswegian, Catherine ‘Been’ Feeney (keyboards and vocals). Their raw, unfettered talent is undeniable and is enough to justify the impression the girls have left on audiences throughout Never the Bride’s 25 years of global domination. As well as supporting The Who, they have appeared on stage alongside Elton John, Bryan Adams, Alice Cooper and many, many more, whilst also playing private shows for luminaries such as Cher and Liza Minnelli. Though with flashes of Led Zeppelin, Heart and Tina Turner, they have honed a sound all of their own, by turns, emotional, inspirational, reflective and huge. For Better, For Worse, is their greatest album yet.

With superfans like Bob Harris and The Who’s Roger Daltrey already joining the throngs of Never the Bride’s army of devotees around the world, there is another supporter whose connection to the band runs deeper than most. A throwaway comment and a demo tape led to Dame Shirley Bassey emerging from her retirement to record a track written by the band!

Scoring a top 40 hit with her interpretation of the track they wrote, one of the highest album chart placings of her career, Never the Bride have announced the release of their forthcoming album, For Better, For Worse, with a tribute to Shirley (now on first name terms with the band).

The single, Tiger Bay, a track the legendary singer says makes her so emotional she can’t perform it herself, is a tribute to Dame Shirley and her emergence from Tiger Bay to be become one of the greatest female performers of all-time. Featuring Nikki’s extraordinary vocals and the band’s incredible ability to bring together elements of rock, blues and soul with lyrics that always strike home, it’s the precursor to an album which sees Never the Bride at the peak of their powers.
